I'm happy to report that Eliza and I are both doing much better, and while we're still a little snotty, the amount of night-wakings has gone back to one. We've had a very social past few days as well, with lots of outings, time spent with cousins, a final reading for the UTS anthology (which has recieved excellent reviews - see http://www.hss.uts.edu.au/student_community/anthology/) and a father's day lunch. 'Liza's been a big hit at all of the events, and has been angelic as well. Smiles for everyone and very patient. Eliza and I took her dad to the Glebe Point Diner yesterday, a new place that's opened in the neighbourhood with delicious, very simple fare that is often organic/biodynamic and locally sourced. I had a blood orange salad with blue goat's cheese and fennel for starters and biodynamic veal with pureed potato and broccolini for my main. Simon had the most delicious fried squid and then leatherjacket (a type of fish) for his main. And quince tart and chocolate mousse for dessert. Yum!
The little girl has figured out how to roll from side to side from her back, which means being much more careful with her sofas, change tables, etc. She also just loves her hands, and often lolls around out with three fingers stuffed in her mouth and her thumb and pinky hanging out. She thinks her cousin Sylvie (pictured) is just fascinating as well, but Sylvie's even more enamoured of Eliza. Sylvie's 10 months and a gorgeous girl, though she seems to have a thing for her cousin's socks!
