Dummy disaster

Yesterday I put two of Eliza's three treasured dummies (pacifiers) on the stove to boil in order to sterilise them. An hour later I wondered why the house smelled like burning plastic. This is why lack of sleep can be dangerous. Thank goodness it wasn't a good saucepan. And that we still had a spare dummy.

Can't you achieve an acceptable amount of cleanliness by washing them with soap and water, rinsing and then pouring boiling water over them (or letting them sit in near boiling water poured from your electric kettle)? Seems a safer practice.

Glad the disaster wasn't greater!
